 Jumper Setting
 ==============

 x = Factory Setting

The following jumpers are accessible to the user (use green jumper
plugs, as for J8 use blue jumper plugs):

 Jumper Pins
 JP248 7 12 SCSI ID setting jumper
JP248 3/4 SCSI bus parity jumper
 JP253 1 4 Terminator power on/off
 JP223 1/2 Write Protection jumper
 JP223 7/8 Motor Start/Stop jumper
JP248 3/4 Motor Auto Start jumper
 JP223 3 6 Spindle Synchronization jumper
 JP266 Spindle Synchronization Terminator
 J7 1 4 Spindle Synchronization signal connector
 J7 5 8 External SCSI ID control *
 J8 5 10 External SCSI ID control *

 * These connectors are applied from PCB Rev 4.
J8 can be controlled both by recommended cable connector and by
blue jumper plugs installed when shipping.
SCSI ID can be set by only one of 3 connectors.
ID2* 2 signals shall be opened at other connectors.

The DK515C jumpers other than listed above are installed by the manu-
facturer (black jumper plugs) and must not be replaced by the user.

JP248 5-6 SCSI Bus Parity Jumper
 --------------------------------
5-6 OPEN Disables SCSI Bus parity
CLOSED Enables SCSI Bus parity x

 JP253 1-4 Terminator power on/off jumper
 ----------------------------------------
   +3-4+ Pins 1-2
   |xxx| CLOSED +5V source for terminator is supplied from the SCSI
   |o o| bus (host) (Pins 3-4 OPEN)
+1-2+ x OPEN +5V source for terminator is supplied from the
                  drive controller. (Pins 3-4 CLOSED)

Note: Terminator power source is supplied to the terminator resistor
module from the host that pulls up the SCSI interface signals in the
controller so that the SCSI bus lines will not be pulled down when
 DK516C power is turned down.

 JP223 1-2 Write Protected
 -------------------------
1-2 CLOSED Write protected. The disk can be only read and cannot be
             written.
1-2 OPEN Read or write. The disk is enabled for both read and
             write. x

 JP223 7-8 Motor Start/Stop jumper
 ---------------------------------
7-8 CLOSED The motor start/stop option is not selected. The spindle
motor is started when power is turned on. The controller
does not respond to the host about 500ms from Power turn-
             on. x
OPEN The motor start/stop option is selected. The spindle
motor can be started or stopped by using SCSI command.

When the motor start/stop option is selected, the drive motor state
depends on Motor Auto Start option when its power is turned on. Use
the Start/Stop Unit (1BH) command to start or stop the drive.

 JP248 3-4 Motor Auto-start option
 ----------------------------------
x 3-4 CLOSED The spindle motor is started when power is turn on.
(Auto Start) The motor can be started or stoped by
               using SCSI command.
OPEN The Spindle motor is not started when power is turn
on. The motor can be started by using SCSI command.

This jumper is available when the motor start/stop option is
selected, and the Motor start/stop state is selected by the motor
auto start option jumper setting when power is turn on. Use the
Start/Stop Unit (1BH) command to start or stop the drive.

 NOTE
Motor Auto Start option jumper are applied from SCSI Firmware CPXXQ.
This jumper is user changeable under this firmware CPXXQ, but the
black jumper is installed for the productivity.

The Synchronized spindle option can be supported by the combination
of these jumpers. The mode to be supported will be decided when power
is turned on. The mode can be certified by MODE SENSE command and
 changed by MODE SELECT command*

2 Pin and 4 Pin of J8 are common on PCB.
   a) Both 2 Pin and 4 Pin are opened,
ID(n) = 1 When each pin is opened
= 0 When each pin is shorted

   b) At least, one of 2 Pin and 4 Pin si shorted,
ID(n) = 0 When each pin is opened
= 0 When each pin is shorted

 NOTE
When this connector is used for SCSI ID setting. ID 1,2,4 signal at
 other connector/Jumper (i.e. JP248, J7) shall be opened.

 NOTE
When ID Polarity signal is shorted, the polarity of ID 2(n) will be
reversed, whichever the ID connector is used from J7, J8 and JP248.
But the signals other than ID2(n) (i.e. Parity, Motor Start/Stop,
Write Protect, etc.) are not influenced by this signal.

 *1 NOTE
The jumper plugs for J8 are colored with Blue, and can be connected
 with square Pin of J8.

The Blue color is used to distinguish it from Green colored jumper
socket which can not connect with square Pin but with rounded pin.

So, please don't use Green colored jumper socket with J8.
